EWR Diary Week 3: 10/17/11-10/23/11:

-WWE has released Rosa Mendes (Milena Roucka). We wish her the best in her future endeavors.

Raw 10/17/11:

(NOTE: A confrontation between John Cena & Alberto Del Rio is hyped throughout the show.)

-Triple H opens the show. He says that last week, he was attacked by The Miz & R-Truth. HHH says that as much as he wants to kill them, they are still fired. This brings out CM Punk. Punk wants to kill them too for costing him the WWE Championship last week. Punk proposes that he and HHH put aside their differences for one night, and team up at Vengeance to face the Miz and R-Truth. HHH thinks about it. He says it's a good idea, but he knows Miz and Truth won't accept the match without getting something out of it, so he says that if Miz and Truth accept, if they win the match, then they will be rehired. Punk proposes it be a cage match so they can't run. HHH then officially issues the challenge: CM Punk & HHH VS Awesome Truth in a Cage match, and if Awesome Truth win, they're re-hired.

-Match 1: Justin Gabriel VS Drew McIntyre

-Gabriel wins a somewhat competitive match clean with the 450 splash. He is attacked by Christian after the win, and laid out with the Killswitch. (***1/2)

-HHH is in his office, when David Otunga & Michael McGuillicutty enter. Otunga says he is still weighing his options after HHH attempted to make him compete last week with a head injury. McGuillicutty says he wants something done after John Cena brutalized him last week. HHH asks Otunga if he's ok, then when Otunga says yes, HHH makes Otunga & McGuillicutty VS John Cena & Randy Orton before kicking the former tag champions out of his office.

-Match 2: Divas Champion Kelly Kelly & Eve VS The Divas of Doom

-Match quickly breaks down as a pier-6 brawl erupts. No one leaves the ring, so the ref DQ's both teams. (**)

-As the teams are separated, The Divas of Doom challenge Kelly & Eve to a No-DQ match at Vengeance. Their challenge is accepted.

-Match 3: WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio VS Zack Ryder

-Ryder gives it his best shot, and gets a couple hope spots, but falls victim to the cross-armbreaker. ADR keeps the hold on for a few seconds after the bell, because he can. (***3/4)

-Vickie Guerrero is backstage with United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger. The trio say that at Vengeance they will prove they are the better team when they win the tag team championship from Air Boom, and tonight they will prove they are better individually, when Ziggler faces Bourne and Swagger faces Kingston in a special challenge series.

-Match 4: John Cena & Randy Orton VS David Otunga & Michael McGuillicutty

-Quick squash, as you would expect. Otunga walked out when McGuillicutty tried to make a tag. Cena hit the AA, and Orton finishes with the RKO. (***)

-MAIN EVENT: Special Challenge Series Match 1: United States Champion Dolph Ziggler VS WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne

-Bourne had Ziggler in position for Air Bourne, but Vickie knocked him off the top rope, and Ziggler finished with the Zig Zag. (**3/4)

-Special Challenge Series Match 2: Jack Swagger VS WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston

-Vickie was ejected from ringside after interfering in this match. The ref was bumped. Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise, but Ziggler snuck in and hit the Zig Zag on Kofi, allowing Swagger to follow up with the gutwrench powerbomb for the win. (**3/4)

-John Cena & WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio had their confrontation. ADR says that he has fulfilled his destiny by becoming a two-time WWE Champion, and proven that ADR is the greatest of the great. Cena responds that the only thing ADR has proven is that he can get lucky and win the title. Cena says ADR knows he can't beat Cena, and that Vengeance will be a replay of Night of Champions. The two almost come to blows, but ADR backs away as the show ends.

Smackdown 10/21/11:

-Match 1: Randy Orton VS Tyson Kidd

-Orton wins a quick squash with the RKO. As he celebrates, he is attacked by Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. Rhodes lays Orton out with a belt shot and the Cross Rhodes. Cody yells at Orton, repatedly asking if Orton wants to fight him now. (**1/4)

-As Cody Rhodes walks around backstage, he bumps into Sheamus. Sheamus gives Cody sarcastic applause for what he did to Orton. Rhodes takes offense, and says that Sheamus wouldn't be able to beat him for the IC title, and he won't beat Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight title at Vengeance. Sheamus takes this as a challenge, and the two agree to a title match later tonight.

-Match 2: Christian VS Yoshi Tatsu

-Christian wins another short match with the Killswitch. After the bell, Justin Gabriel runs out to attack Christian. (**1/4)

-As Christian runs away from the ring, Justin Gabriel gets on the microphone, and announces that he will be facing Christian at Vengeance.

-Match 3-Handicap Match: World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry VS The Usos

-The Usos throw everything they have at Henry, but end up getting destroyed. Henry hits both with the World's Strongest Slam, then stacks one on top of the other so he can pin them both. (*)

-Henry gets on the mic, and says Sheamus better win the IC title tonight if he wants to leave Vengeance with some gold, because he's not getting the World Heavyweight Championship. Henry says he just destroyed two men, so what chance does one man have?

-Match 4: Ezekial Jackson VS Evil Sin Cara

-Sin Cara gains the advantage by cheating, but then Good Sin Cara distracts him, allowing Jackson to lock in the Torture Rack for the submission. Good Sin Cara adds a couple splashes after the match. (*3/4)

-Daniel Bryan comes out with William Regal. Bryan says that Regal was right in that he was holding back in his matches, not wanting to really risk anything before WrestleMania. Bryan says he knows the WWE Universe does not want to see a loser in the main event at WrestleMania, and that because of his recent losses, that's how he is being seen. Bryan says to correct that, for every match he is in until WrestleMania, Bryan will be putting up his Money in the Bank briefcase. If Bryan is pinned or submits, he will hand the contract over to whoever does it. This brings out Wade Barrett. Barrett points out that he beat Bryan last week, and that he also beat Bryan at SummerSlam. Barrett says he should be the first man to challenge Bryan for the Money in the Bank briefcase. Bryan agrees, and the two set up a match for Vengeance.

-MAIN EVENT: Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes [c] VS Sheamus

-Long main event. Sheamus looks to be in position to win the title, when Mark Henry interferes, drawing a DQ. The heels beat Sheamus down, until Randy Orton rushes out to even the odds. Sheamus knocks Henry out of the ring, before hitting Rhodes with an RKO. The faces stand triumphant as the show ends. (***1/4)

Vengeance 10/23/11:

-Match 1: Justin Gabriel VS Christian

-Excellent opener. Gabriel wins clean with the 450 splash. (****)

-Match 2 for the WWE Tag Team Championship: Air Boom [c] VS Zig Swag

-Swagger accidentally runs into Ziggler, knocking Ziggler outside the ring. Kingston hits Trouble in Paradise, and Bourne follows up with the Shooting Star Press for the win. Zig Swag argue after the loss. (***1/4)

-Match 3 for the Money in the Bank briefcase: Daniel Bryan VS Wade Barrett

-Bryan wins clean with the Labell Lock. (***)

-Match 4 for the Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes [c] VS Randy Orton

-Cody kept using the facemask as a weapon, REALLY pissing Orton off. Orton finally had enough, removed the mask, and waffled Cody, drawing a DQ. Orton dropped Cody with an RKO after the bell. (***1/2)

-Match 5 for the World Heavyweight Championship: Mark Henry [c] VS Sheamus

-The ref gets bumped. Henry drills Sheamus with the title belt, and finishes with the World's Strongest Slam. (**)

-Match 6 Cage Match-If Awesome Truth win, they are rehired: Triple H & CM Punk VS Awesome Truth

-Both Punk and Truth escaped the cage, leaving Miz with HHH. As Punk and Truth fought on the outside of the ring, HHH crawled towards the door to escape. Just when he get there, Alberto Del Rio bum-rushed the ring and slammed the door on HHH's head, allowing Miz to get the pin. (**3/4)

-Match 7 No DQ: Divas Champion Kelly Kelly & Eve VS The Divas of Doom

-Beth and Natalya took Eve out with chairshots, then Beth finished Kelly with the Glam Slam on a chair. (**)

-MAIN EVENT for the WWE Championship: Alberto Del Rio [c] VS John Cena

-Cena was rolling when Awesome Truth came out to interfere. CM Punk & HHH came out to brawl with them. In the ensuing chaos, Kevin Nash snuck into the ring, and delivered a massive Jackknife powerbomb on Cena, allowing ADR to retain. (**3/4)
