EWR Diary Take Two: Present Day WWE

So, after thinking about it, I've decided to abandon the 2007 WWE EWR diary, and start a new one. This one takes place in present-day WWE. I figure that this will work best, as I will not have actual WWE booking from a past time frame in my mind while playing the game. Can I do any better than what WWE actually does?

I am starting this after tomorrow's PPV, and am working off the results for that show coming out as:

WWE Championship: Alberto Del Rio def. John Cena [c] & CM Punk in a triple threat match to regain the title.
World Heavyweight Championship: Mark Henry [c] destroyed Randy Orton to retain the title
Divas Championship: Kelly Kelly [c] def. Beth Phoenix by DQ when the ref caught Natalya interfering
WWE Tag Team Championship: Air Boom [c] def. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger to retain the titles after miscommuncation by their opponents
The Battle of the Sin Caras ended in a draw when they fought to a double count-out.
Sheamus def. Christian

I will only be booking Raw and Smackdown, since I don't care about NXT or Superstars.

Here we go...

Raw Supershow 10/3/11:

-The show opens with Ricardo Rodriguez in the ring. He says a bunch of stuff in Spanish, then introduces the NEW WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio! ADR gloats over regaining his destiny, and the WWE Championship last night at Hell in a Cell. ADR says he will be the greatest WWE champion of all time, and that no one can stop him. Out comes former WWE Champion John Cena. Cena notes that both are beaten and battered from last night, so they should be on the same footing for Cena's rematch. Cena proposes that they have the rematch tonight, but ADR says he's simply too beat up from last night, and proposes the rematch take place in three weeks at Vengeance. Cena agrees.

-Match 1: Alex Riley VS Jinder Mahal

-Riley wins a short match with the Impaler DDT. (*1/2)

-Vickie Guerrero is backstage with her clients WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger. They may have failed in their attempt to win the WWE Tag Team Championship last night (Ziggler and Swagger take turns blaming each other), but tonight, it's about getting revenge on Mason Ryan for turning on them last week, and Zack Ryder, for embarrassing them by picking up the scraps and getting the win in their six man tag team match.

-WWE COO Triple H comes out. He says that while Del Rio & Cena have agreed to have a WWE Championship match at Vengeance, Del Rio may not be WWE Champion in three weeks, because next week, he will defend the championship against another man who deserves a title opportunity, CM Punk.

-Match 2: The Divas of Doom (Beth Phoenix & Natalya) VS AJ & Kaitlyn

-The DoD dominate their opponents, taking out their frustration at Beth failing again to wrest the Divas title from Kelly Kelly last night. Natalya makes Kaitlyn tap to the Sharpshooter. The DoD add a beat down after the bell, when Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres run out to try to make the save, but they get beaten down too. (3/4*)

-A video showcasing the recent domination of Smackdown by World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry airs. The question is asked, who will be the next inductee to Henry's "Hall of Pain"?

-Match 3: WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger (w/Vickie Guerrero) VS Zack Ryder & Mason Ryan

-Ziggler & Swagger couldn't do much against Ryan. They did get Ryder in trouble, and he was the face-in-peril, until miscommunication allowed Ryder to make the hot tag to Ryan. Ryan hit his finisher on Dolph, but Swagger made the save. The match broke down and Ryan tagged in Ryder. Unbeknownst to the ref and Ryder, Vickie slid the U.S. title belt to Dolph, and he used it to KO Ryder for the pin. (*3/4)

-Triple H is in his office when Christian enters. He reminds HHH that several wrestlers are still deciding whether to take legal action against HHH. Christian says he may change his mind, if HHH gives him one more shot at the World Heayvweight Championship. HHH reminds Christian that he lost his match to Sheamus last night, so he doesn't deserve another shot. Christian gets angry, but HHH comes up with a solution. Christian VS CM Punk in tonight's main event, and if Christian wins, he'll get another World Heavyweight Championship match. Christian agrees to it.

-WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom make their entrance for a match, but before it starts, The Miz & R-Truth emerge from the crowd and attack them. The fight spills onto the entrance area, where Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on Evan Bourne, and Truth hits the Shut Up on Kofi Kingston, knocking them both out. Awesome Truth run back out through the crowd before they can be nabbed by security.

-Match 4: John Morrison VS David Otunga

-Morrison wins a short match with a running knee to the face. Otunga is out on his feet, and requires help from officials to make it to the back. (*1/2)

-MAIN EVENT: CM Punk VS Christian

-Long back-and-forth main event. Punk fights out of the Killswitch, and hits the GTS for the win. As Punk celebrates, Alberto Del Rio rushes out and attacks him. Punk fights back, but Christian makes it 2-on-1, and ADR is able to lock in the cross-armbreaker until he is satisfied with the beating. Del Rio stands above Punk and holds the title belt in the air as the show closes. (***1/2)

Smackdown 10/7/11:

-World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry opens the show. He says that he destroyed the Viper Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell, and now even the doubters and the haters have no choice but to recognize him as the World's Strongest Champion. Henry says that the great thing about being World Champion is that now he doesn't have to go looking for people to be inducted into the "Hall of Pain", but now people will come to him. Henry asks for someone, anyone, to come out and be his next victim. After a few moments with no response, Henry is about to leave when Sheamus enters. He notes that he beat Christian at Hell in a Cell, and a few weeks ago, Sheamus and Henry had a couple battles that had no winner. Sheamus says he's not intimidated by Henry, and that he will step up and be Henry's next challenger. Henry says Sheamus just made the biggest mistake of his career.

-Match 1: Justin Gabriel VS Tyson Kidd

-Really good back-and-forth action. Gabriel finishes with the 450 splash.  (***3/4)

-Match 2: Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes VS Ted DiBiase

-Rhodes wins fairly quickly with the Cross Rhodes. He adds another and puts a paper bag over DiBiase's head when after the match. (**1/2)

-Cody Rhodes stands over the KO'd Ted DiBiase and issues an open challenge. Rhodes says he beat nine guys on Raw last week, and that he is bringing prestige back to the Intercontinental Championship.

-Matt Stryker interviews Wade Barrett about his match with Sheamus tonight. Barrett says that Sheamus better focus on him, not Mark Henry, and that after Barrett beats Sheamus tonight, Barrett will be the one challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship.

-Match 3: World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry VS Ezekial Jackson

-Jackson does OK in a power match with Henry. Jackson tries for his series of bodyslams, but Henry is too big and too strong, eventually hitting the World's Strongest Slam for the win. (**3/4)

-Christian stages a sit-in, protesting his recent treatment by Triple H. Christian says HHH knew he suffered an injury at Hell in a Cell, and forced him into accepting the match on Raw against CM Punk by dangling the carrot of a World Heavyweight Championship match in front of him. Christian says he is not leaving the ring until something is done about this. Daniel Bryan enters, and says he's tired of hearing Christian whine week after week. Bryan asks Christian if he will whine this much after Bryan becomes the World Heavyweight Champion. Christian responds that Bryan can't win a match since winning Money in the Bank, and will be the first person to lose when he cashes in. Bryan challenges Christian to a match. Christian backs off, but Teddy Long enters to order the match be started right now.

-Match 4: Christian VS Daniel Bryan

-Bryan controlled the early going, with Christian out of sorts from being steemed about his current situation, and being caught unprepared for the match. Bryan managed to get the Labell Lock on, but Christian managed to counter into a roll-up, and grabbed the ropes to get the pin. (***1/2)

-Daniel Bryan is walking backstage with his head down from the loss, when his mentor William Regal enters the scene. He says he can't believe what has happened to Bryan. Regal says that after working to prove everyone who said Bryan couldn't make it in WWE wrong, Bryan can't handle success. Regal leaves as Bryan thinks over what Regal said.

-MAIN EVENT: Sheamus VS Wade Barrett

-Another power match. Barrett fights off the Celtic Cross. Sheamus fights off Wasteland, and hits the Brogue Kick for the win. (***1/4)

-Mark Henry rushes out to attack Sheamus after the match. Sheamus fights back, and when it looks like things may get out of hand, Teddy Long ushers out other wrestlers and WWE officials to keep them apart. The fight rages as the show comes to a close.
